Pilates just got a whole load better!
Standard Pilates can be a great mind-body exercise which can provide strengthening and toning of the core muscles as well as mental focus and improved mind-body co-ordination. ‘Well, how can you make that even better?’, we hear you ask.
Well, here at Body IQ, where everything is taught with an emphasis on mindfulness, Pilates has been slowed right down and combined with ‘somatics’ to make it even better for you. Somatics is a more meditative form of exercise which works on a deeper neuro-muscular level and can have incredibly profound results. It is very effective at releasing muscle tension, re-aligning poor posture and relieving chronic pain, so as well as gaining strength and toning, you will feel absolutely chilled and stress-free too!! This course will start you from the very beginning. You need no prior knowledge of Pilates or Somatics. The group will be small so your teacher can monitor you and give you the best quality of instruction. You will always be encouraged to work at your own pace and can relax in the knowledge that you won’t be pushed to compete with others or to do endless reps, but rather you will listen to your own body and its achievements.
