The course in a nutshell

Our 6-week Minded Yoga course is the perfect place to start even if you have no previous (or very little) experience of yoga. It’s also ideal if you have prior experience but want to make your your yoga practice more mindful. The emphasis will be on breathing: where it all begins, and powerful but subtle yogic techniques which ‘tire’ the body and subsequently evoke deep relaxation. The class will include a mindful series of specially chosen yogic postures which will generate body awareness but also will stimulate specific nerves, organs and glands which in turn relieve joint pain, remove toxins from the body and boost the immune system. Lizzie’s gentle Body IQ approach will ensure you find this manageable as she will encourage you to work at your own pace and to sense every movement and internal sensation. Relaxation, stress relief and a focused mind will follow. You will leave each class with a calm feeling of having been ‘restored’. Over the 6 week period you will see and feel gradual and tangible progression. This very rewarding course is highly recommended for those wishing to experience a taste of the many varied benefits – physical, mental, and emotional – that yoga can offer.

Course content

This 6-week course is specially designed to introduce you to the benefits of yoga through a range of carefully sequenced postures.  Rest assured that even if you think you can’t do yoga, this course will show you that you can!  By the end of it, you’ll be more aware of how to move your body and use your breath so that you are able to release tension in the body and mind, leaving you feeling more positive and calm.

BodyIQ Studio (the "house of mindful practice") Welcomes our newest co-worker....meet the fabulous Lizzie. Merging beautifully with the studio's high standards and ethos. Lizzie is an experienced Yoga Teacher, having initially trained with The British Wheel of Yoga. She continued her studies at The Minded Institute and is now also a Yoga Therapist for Mental Health and trained as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher having completed her studies with Bangor University. Taking a very science based approach, Lizzie is going to teach MINDED YOGA - based on the ancient practices of Yoga and Mindfulness

Taking a very science based approach, Lizzie is going to teach MINDED YOGA – based on the ancient practices of Yoga and Mindfulness & blended with modern day neuroscience, and therapeutic techniques. This unique combination was created by Heather Mason, Director of The Minded Institute who Lizzie trained with. All are welcome on this new 4 part course but places will be limited so book NOW. No prior experience of yoga is required. Over the four sessions you will be invited to experiment with various yoga poses, breathing and mindfulness techniques, and learn more about how the brain works when under stress.
